DPM receives Cuban Minister of Labor and Social Security

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has affirmed the friendly relations and cooperation between Viet Nam and Cuba are special, profound, faithful and increasingly tightened, stating that Viet Nam always supports the just struggle of the heroic Cuban people.

Deputy PM Dam made the remarks during his reception for Cuban Minister of Labor and Social Security Margarita M. Gonzalez Fernandez in Ha Noi on September 13.

He said that the adoption of the new constitution would help Cuba to promptly achieve the goal of pursuing the path towards socialism, accelerating foreign investment, shifting the mixed economic structure, and modernizing the society.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the contents related to human resource development, the rights and interests of laborers, the access to medical and educational services, social allowances and poverty reduction.

The Cuban side wishes to cooperate and exchange experience with Viet Nam in labor, employment, wages, assistances for policy beneficiaries, and sending laborers to work aboard.

Based on the outcomes of the working session between the Vietnamese Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Cuban Minister of Labor and Social Security, Deputy PM Dam urged the two sides to actively accelerate cooperation and experience sharing aiming to complete their policies and deign social security models associated with sustainable development.

He asked the Cuban ministry to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses operating in Cuba in dealing with the issues of employment and wages.

The deputy PM emphasized that the renovation process is taking place vigorously in both Viet Nam and Cuba, with top priority given to accelerating economic growth in parallel with ensuring social equality and taking the people as the center of development.

Viet Nam always supports and stands side by side with the Cuban people in the process of socio-economic reforms associated with sustainable development, he affirmed.
