VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh on September 22 met with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.

September 23, 2017 9:09 PM GMT+7

The meeting aims to exchange measures to realize the outcomes of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to the US, particularly in fields of politics, economics, trade, investment, education, health, humanitarian, science-technology and security-defense.

The Deputy PM hailed the U.S.’ decision to open market for Vietnamese star apples, stressing that the two sides need to enhance cooperation in the fields of mutual interests at bilateral, regional and global levels, for the sake of both sides’ people and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

Mr. Thomas Shannon hailed the positive developments in the two nations’ relationship over the recent time.

He said both sides need to continue promoting dialogues and delegation exchanges at all levels, especially President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Viet Nam in November this year in order to further strengthen cooperation in all areas.
