DPM meets Lao, Malaysian, Singaporean leaders in Japan
VGP – Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh held bilateral meetings with Lao PM Thongloun Sisoulith, Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad and Singaporean Deputy PM Teo Chee Hean while he was in Japan to attend the 24th Conference on the Future of Asia in Tokyo, Japan.

They affirmed their determination to promoting the bilateral relationship more intensively and synchronously through fully realizing outcomes of the annual meetings between the two Political Bureaus and the 40th meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee on bilateral cooperation (February 2018) between the two Governments as well as the framework of the action plan between the two Governments in 2018.
The Vietnamese Deputy PM suggested the Lao Government speed up the administrative procedure reform, and facilitate investment licence and visa granting for Vietnamese citizens.
The two leaders agreed to enhance economic cooperation in a more effective way, focusing on key projects of connecting infrastructures and transport.
The Lao Government welcomes and creates favorable conditions for the two sides’ businesses to enhance cooperation to bring benefits for both, asserted the Lao PM.
Both sides pledged to share information and closely coordinate at multi-lateral forums to make contributions to peace, stability and ensure sustainable development at each nation and the continent.

The Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to and hopes to promote Viet Nam-Malaysia Strategic Partnership to a higher level and in a more practical and effective fashion for the sake of their people, affirmed Mr. Binh.
Mr. Mahathir Mohamad proposed the two sides consolidate political trusts and accelerate economic cooperation, concentrating on application of value-added technology.
The two leaders consented to expand maritime cooperation, boost the signing of fishing cooperative agreements, address issues between their fishermen and enhance negotiations of delimitation of maritime boundaries as well as discussed issues of international and regional concerns, stressing the need to strengthen solidarity and consensus, heading to establish ASEAN of peace, stability and self-reliance.

They consented to boost security and defense cooperation through visits and exchanges between young soldiers, anti-terrorism and guaranty of cyber security.
Mr. Teo Chee Hean committed to supporting Viet Nam in improving management capacity and experience sharing for young leaders, joining hands in boosting regional economic integration through the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
