The event attracted the participation of Ministers, heads of delegations, social activists from nations in the Asia-Pacific and representatives of the United Nations and the international and regional organizations.

Almost all issues related to the comprehensive development policy for children were referred at conferences, seminars and discussions such as child care of migrant laborers, environmental pollution threatening the health and development of children, the role of policies on building nurturing and sustainable environment and initiatives and policies on early child development.

Speaking at the event, Dam asked that all nations must focus on human resources development, especially the future generation of each nation and the future owner of the world.

Many countries, including Viet Nam, have made efforts in realizing sustainable development goals, legalizing and realizing measures to fully ensure the rights of children which are highlighted in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Laws and policies of many nations, such as Viet Nam, aim to take care and make best investment for children, especially in disadvantaged conditions.

For comprehensive development for children, children’s rights must be respected and protected fully, which needs more efforts not only from agencies and organizations directly related to children, said Dam, requiring to narrow the gap between undeveloped region with developing region.

Children are not only provided with full nutrition, learning opportunities, health care and entertainment services but are also helped to live in an environment of peace, pollution-free and love, he said.

Thanks to the assistance of the UN agencies, international organizations and business community, Viet Nam has gained millennium development goals before the deadline, particularly goals related to children and mother, said Dam, adding that Viet Nam has delivered strong commitments to realizing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially ones relevant to child development.
