DPM asks for measures to enhance economic growth

VGP – Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue asserted that fast and sustainable growth is the Party’s guidelines and key to shortening development gap with other nations at the Viet Nam Economics Seminar held on November 15 in Ha Noi.

Fast and sustainable growth must ensure inclusiveness and comprehensiveness for the people, he asked, expecting to mobilize all the people to make contribution to growth with the aim of no one being left behind.     

Speaking at the seminar, the Deputy PM hoped that all delegates focus on analyzing and evaluating the current context for the development of the nation.  

Viet Nam needs to transfer growth model and restructure the economy, he said, adding that all delegates should clarify the nation’s new development model and current challenges.

The Deputy PM hoped that the Government will listen to comments from professionals on socio-economic development criteria and other evaluations on quality of growth. These criteria are tools for supervising the Government’s process of economic monitoring process.

He requested specialists, businesses and managers to analyze and evaluate the nation’s opportunities and challenges, key growth forces and assess Viet Nam’s business environment and competitiveness capacity. 

Besides attracting and selecting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), it is necessary to connect the FDI sector and domestic business bloc for the development of both, he added.
