At his working session with Gia Lai Province’s authorities, the Deputy PM lauded Gia Lai’s promotion of socio-economic and political-security partnership with the Cambodian province of Ratanakiri, maintaining stability and development along the shared border.

He proposed the province enhance border trade exchanges with Cambodian localities.
The Deputy PM inspected a number of land markers planted along the Viet Nam-Cambodia border crossing Gia Lai and Ratanakiri provinces.

Deputy PM Minh asked the provincial leaders and Border Guard to work closely with the Cambodian locality to complete the remaining work promptly.

He also presented gifts to the provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims.

As many as 16 positions have been identified to be marked by 20 markers on the borderline. Gia Lai has finished planting 10 markers so far.

On the same day, during his working with Kon Tum Province, Deputy PM Minh highly valued efforts of the province in socio-economic development, raising the ethnic community’s living standards and ensuring national security.

He praised the province’s active diplomatic activities to maintain the relationship with the border provinces of Cambodia and Laos.

The Deputy PM gave comments on some proposals of the province including assisting the province in dealing with immigration and unlicensed marriages.
In 2014, the PM approved the Agreement on tackling undocumented immigration and unlicensed marriages of those living along the Viet Nam-Laos border.

He supported the expansion of the sub-border gates with Cambodia and Laos.

He suggested the province work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on connecting with 96 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to advertise its local potentials, especially in terms of agriculture and tourism, to seek foreign partners.
