DPM Minh attends ASEAN meetings in Myanmar

VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh will attend the 47th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM) and related meetings from August 8-10 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

The related meetings include the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference (PMC), the 15th ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (APT-15), the fourth East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (EAS FMM-4), and the 21st ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF-21).

He will join other senior officials in reviewing ASEAN cooperation, the relationship between the ASEAN and its partners over the past time and discussing orientations to accelerate their partnership as well as regional and international issues of common concern, especially regional peace and security.

The meetings are the most important events of ASEAN and its partners in the year with the participation of FMs from 10 member countries and their 17 partners.

On this occasion, a number of ministerial meetings in the Mekong Cooperation framework and its partners will also be held. 
Deputy PM Minh’s participation aims to consolidate solidarity and cooperation in ASEAN, establish a strong ASEAN community and uphold its central role in maintaining peaceful, sustainable, security and cooperative environment in the region.
