Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement during a meeting with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Professor Tanaka Akihiko in Tokyo, Japan on May 23.

Nhan appreciated JICA’s development cooperation programs in Viet Nam.

He said he hoped that JICA will zero in on Viet Nam’s four prioritized sectors, including human resources, high technology, transport infrastructure and energy, and several other important projects on developing astronomical industry, upgrading four universities and three vocational training institutions to international standard, and building Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and Lach Huyen Port in Hai Phong city.

Professor Tanaka thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for their material and spiritual support to the Japanese Government and people to overcome the earthquake and tsunami aftermaths in 2011.

He spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government’s macro-economy monitoring policies to curb inflation and restructure several economic corporations, affirming that his Government always grants aids to Viet Nam, even when his country faces difficulties.

He also reiterated that Viet Nam-Japan relations have flourished further and cooperation programs between JICA and the country have been increasingly effective, meeting the expectations of the two Governments and peoples.
