DPM: ASEAN focuses on ensuring regional security, peace
VGP – ASEAN needs to continue focusing on ensuring regional security and peace, maintaining the central role of ASEAN as well as reforming procedures in line with improving the capacity to address urgent situations and increasing the effectiveness of coordination between agencies.

Speaking at the meetings, Deputy PM Minh acknowledged progress made during the establishment of the ASEAN Community and the realization of ASEAN Vision 2025, proposing ASEAN nations continue strengthening solidarity, reliance and consistency of traditional rules and methods and flexibly and creatively address challenges.
ASEAN should consistently follow reached agreements and make efforts in ensuring peace, stability and security in the East Sea, comply with the international laws, exercise self-retrain, prevent to militarize or complicate the situation, commit to addressing disputes through peaceful measures based on international laws and fully implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and active formation of a effective and practical Code of Conduct (COC).
He raised his voice to strengthen enforcement and supervision mechanisms and effective implementation of decisions and agreements to ensure the success realization of the ASEAN Vision 2025 and join hand to narrow development gap in the region.
The Vietnamese leader encouraged to expand cooperation in field of high-quality human resource development and take advantages of opportunities brought by the fourth industrial revolution and support start-up, especially women and youth.
