Czech plans out 12 wind power projects in VN next year

VGP – With a 3,000-km coastal line which is a good condition for the development of wind power industry, Việt Nam has become an ideal destination for KV VENTI company from the Czech Republic to kick start 12 projects in 2009.

KV VENTI is in charge of installing wind turbines as well as electric stations and transferring its technological know-how to operate 12 wind power projects nationwide with the total capacity of around 1,000 MW.
Two 15 MW stations constructed in Phú Quốc Island and Hạ Long Bay will cost approximately US $4 million each. These plants can produce electricity for 25 years.
Experts held that the development of renewable energies, such as wind power, solar power, and bio-energy, is a necessary and safe tendency for Việt Nam in the future.
Under a survey of the WB on wind power in Southeast Asia, Việt Nam is the greatest potential country for wind power, owning the total wind power capacity of over 53,000 MW (200 times higher than a medium-capacity hydroelectric plant).
