Cutting time for customs clearance by half

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has tasked the customs sector to strive to slash the time for customs clearance in half by the end of this year.

July 30, 2014 9:31 AM GMT+7

In 2015, the sector must reduce the time required for processing customs procedures down to the average of ASEAN-6 group.

The Government chief also asked the sector to ruled out customs staff who committed to wrongdoings while performing customs procedures.

The Ministry of Finance was assigned to develop a project to modernize customs facilities; direct the customs sectors to review policies and mechanisms in a bid to realize objectives of streamlining administrative procedures.

Earlier on July 9, PM Dung urged the customs sector to focus on improving management capacity and reforming administrative procedures.

He said that it is unacceptable to process customs procedures related to import four four days while the average time in the region is just three days./.
