Cultural activities to celebrate big diplomatic events between VN and Laos

VNGOP – As part of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic tie establishment and the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Việt Nam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Agreement, Mr. Bounnhang Vorachith, Lao Vice State President and Mr. Phạm Gia Khiêm, Deputy PM, Foreign Minister on July 16 opened the Exhibitions entitled “Việt Nam–Laos Special Relationship 1962-1976” and “Lao Cultural Space” organized at the Hồ Chí Minh Museum and the Vân Hồ Exhibition Center.

These are major cultural activities during the "Lao Cultural Week in Việt Nam” concurrently conducted with the “Vietnamese Cultural Week in Laos” from July 15-21, 2007.

The first exhibition introduced over 500 photos and artifacts highlighting two topics: diplomatic tie establishment and the Việt Nam-Laos combat alliance in the people's national democratic revolution (1962-1976); and the promotion of coalition and comprehensive cooperation to bring the Việt Nam-Laos relationship to new plane (1977-2007). These are vivid evidences of the faithful relationship between the two nations during their struggle for national independence and construction.

The “Lao Cultural Space” exhibition included the display of Lao fine art and handicraft products, 170 photos of the Lao country and people; and books on the relationship between the two countries. There were also interesting performances to praise the good bilateral friendship.
