On its frontpage, Granma newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba, on April 9 ran a story and photos of a welcome reception for General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and the Vietnamese Party delegation at international airport of José Marti in Havana.

Granma highlighs the speech by General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng to Cuban and foreign reporters right at the airport.

The Cuban Central Television on its “Good morning” bulletin reviewed outstanding achivements gained by Việt Nam in its renewal process, and praised the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, Governments and peoples.

The Cuban News Agency Prensa Latina has also had deep coverage of the visit. Its article titled “Cuba and Việt Nam foster their comprehensive cooperative relations,” said the two countries are seeking opportunities to step up the bilateral ties amid the visit starting on April 9.

Trabajadores (Laborers) newspaper ran an article highlighting the milestones in the bilateral ties between Cuba and Việt Nam, since their diplomatic relations establishment in 1960.

“Cuba-Việt Nam solidarity has been built on the principles of respecting independence, sovereignty and right to self-determination of all nations,” the article concluded.
