Council set up to appraise Long Thanh int’l airport project

VGP – The Prime Minister has decided to establish a state council to appraise the feasibility study report of the first phase of the Long Thanh International Airport construction project in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The Minister of Planning and Investment serves as the chairman of the council, while a Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment works as the vice chairman. Members of the council include leaders of relevant ministries, agencies and sectors.

The rights and responsibilities of the council and its staff are stipulated in the Government’s Decree No.131/2015/ND-CP dated December 25, 2015 guiding the country’s important projects and other regulations concerned. 

The council is allowed to hire joint venture consultants and foreign consultants, who ensure independence and objectiveness from those involved in the establishment of the project, in order to examine the feasibility study report for the project in line with legal regulations.

The hiring of appraisal consultants and the appraisal costs are implemented pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 131/2015/ND-CP dated December 25, 2015 guiding the country’s important projects and other regulations concerned. 

The Ministry of Transport was asked to work with the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises to direct investors towards promptly finalizing the feasibility study report and arrange capital in service of the compilation and appraisal of the report.
