Continuing to perfect e-Government project

VNGOP- After the two consultative conferences to collect suggestions from domestic and international IT experts, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on April 8 held another meeting on boosting the application of information technology in State agencies and developing e-Government in Việt Nam, in order to perfect the Program on application of information technology (IT) in State agencies.

The participants put forth three solutions – using open source codes, engaging the whole society in building e-Government, and setting up an overall architecture for e-Government - which aims at realizing e-Government in an effective and economical way.

They also agreed with the diversification of investment forms, such as Building-Transfer, Building-Operation-Transfer, to carry out IT projects in the roadmap of IT application in State agencies.

All financial and high-qualified human resources, transmission infrastructure, technical equipment should be made full use in order to mobilize all economic resources for the construction of e-Government, said Mr. Vũ Hoàng Liên, Director of VDC group.

Most participants stated that it is important to build an overall architecture of e-Government, so as to standardize all steps and procedures of the e-administration.

Many of them pointed out that the most difficulty is the lack of IT manpower, especially high-qualified contingent. Besides, the importance of IT application in State agencies is not valued properly.

To solve the problem, some solutions are proposed, such as it is compulsory for civil servants to use e-mail (gov.vn) in daily works, and replacing direct meetings with online ones.
