State President Quang congratulated Ambassador Claudio Andres De Negri Quintana for his successful mission in Viet Nam and his important contribution to the traditional ties between Viet Nam and Chile.

Earlier, the Ambassador worked with Vietnamese relevant agencies to conduct high-ranking visits, noticeably the official visit of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 25th APEC Summit Week last November.

State President Quang also acknowledged the contribution of the outgoing Ambassador to the economic, trade, and investment ties between Viet Nam and Chile. Especially, the Viet Nam-Chile Free Trade Agreement served to rapidly boost the two-way trade turnover between the two countries.

He was convinced that the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) which was inked in Chile on March 8 represents the contribution of Viet Nam, Chile, and other signatories in promoting global trade and offers new opportunities to cement and deepen cooperation.

Mr. Quang hoped that the Ambassador would continue to make more contributions to cementing and deepening the friendly and cooperative ties between Viet Nam and Chile.

In return, Ambassador Claudio Andres De Negri Quintana congratulated Viet Nam as the host of APEC 2017 and hoped to learn from Viet Nam's experience to organize APEC 2019 in Chile.

Mr. Claudio Andres De Negri Quintana said that within the framework of CPTPP, future lies in Asia of which ASEAN plays the central role. Viet Nam serves as one of the most important chains in ASEAN.

Chile expects to beef up ties with Viet Nam in all field, said the outgoing Ambassador.
