Changes to National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Response

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday signed a decision on reorganization of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Under the Decision, PM Pham is Head of the Committee, who will be assisted by four deputy heads: Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, and Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh.

The Committee has 10 members: Minister of Public Security To Lam, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Bui Thi Minh Hoai, head of the Party Central Committee’s Propagation and Educaiton Nguyen Trong Nghia, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Budget and Finance Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung.

The Government chief also decided to set up eight sub-committees: Sub-committee on health led by Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long; Sub-committee on security and social order led by Minister of Public Security To Lam; Sub-committee on social welfare headed by Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Sub-committee on finance and logistics led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; Sub-committee on production and circulation of goods led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh; Sub-committee on resource mobilization led by President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien; Sub-committee on Mass Mobilization led by head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization; and Sub-committee on communication led by Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung.

The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control was established on January 31, 2020.

* The same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over a meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, during which he asked subordinate levels to take care of foreigners living in Viet Nam./.
