VGP – A ceremony was held this evening by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) to commemorate those who lost their lives to COVID-19.

Addressing the event, VFFCC President Do Van Chien said the COVID-19 pandemic has infected more than one million and caused more than 23,000 deaths in Viet Nam.

Many families lost two or three members while some women died from COVID-19 after giving birth, Do recalled.

The pandemic has left thousands of elderly people unsupported and more than 2,600 children orphaned, he added.

As the pandemic is still evolving complicatedly, Do called on citizens to uphold the sense of responsibility in the fight against COVID-19.
