Acknowledging achievements in preventing and combating corruption in 2009, Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng encouraged VFFCC, with its position in building and strengthening the national solidarity, “to play a stronger role in the anti-corruption work.”

He also urged the Steering Committee and VFFCC to closely work with mass media in making public corruption cases.

The Deputy PM shared his view with VFFCC Chairman Huỳnh Đảm that the fight against corruption in the past was not tough enough as the scourge has continued to occur in a serious and complicated manner, arousing the concern of the people and society.

Deputy PM Trọng raised the fact that anti-corruption work is a long, complicated process challenged by numerous obstacles and requires the dedication of the entire society.

For his part, VFFCC Chairman Huỳnh Đảm showed his high agreement with proposals of the Steering Committee in the fight against corruption, especially sharing their quarterly reports and other documents on anti-corruption.

Mr. Huỳnh Đảm stressed that VFFCC will consider close coordination with the Steering Committee as its regular task.
