Cambodia expects Vietnamese-Cambodians to stabilize their lives

The meeting took place on the occasion of the Vietnamese Deputy PM’s visit to Cambodia to co-chair the 17th meeting of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Commission on economic, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. 

Minh conveyed the greetings of Viet Nam’s senior leaders to the Cambodian PM, asserting that the Vietnamese Party and State are delighted with the fruitful developments in the two nations’ traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation. 

High-ranking delegation visits, with rhe remarkable one by Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong to Cambodia in February 2019 and PM Hun Sen’s official visit to Viet Nam in December 2018 have created more forces for the bilateral relationship. 

Minh highlighted effective and practical achievements in trade and investment ties, including the two-way trade value of US$4.7 billion in 2018, which is forecasted to reach US$5 billion at the end of this year. 

Viet Nam always provides suitable resources to support Cambodia in all fields, especially training and high-quality human resource development, infrastructure development and social security.  

The two sides’ ministries, agencies and localities have enhanced close coordination and help each other to make contributions o strengthening the friendship ties. 

PM Hun Sen spoke highly of the two countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs, ministries and agencies for making efforts in maintaining the Joint Committee to promptly tackle obstacles in the bilateral relationship. 

He appraised the two sides’ relevant agencies on basically completing 84% of the border demarcation and marker planting for official signing in the time ahead. 

Cambodia always attaches importance to and highly values cooperation and assistance of Viet Nam, he said, welcoming the Vietnamese businesses to launch operation and investment in Cambodia. 

The Cambodian Government spares no effort in facilitating the operation of foreign enterprises, including Vietnamese ones, he said. 

Related to legal documents for Cambodians with Vietnamese origin in Cambodia, the Cambodian Government expects that they will stabilize their lives and uphold their bridging roles in Viet Nam-Cambodia friendship relations, he asserted.
