CPV Politburo member Trương Tấn Sang continues Lao visit

Mr. Trương Tấn Sang addresses the celebration of two big diplomatic events between Việt Nam and Laos in Vientiane

Delivering speech at the working sessions with leaders of Luong Namtha and Oudomxai Provinces in northern and northwestern Laos, Mr. Trương Tấn Sang reconfirmed that the Vietnamese Party and Government are encouraging Vietnamese businesses to invest in these provinces and other localities in northern Laos. Executives of some Vietnamese economic groups pledged to dispatch their delegations to the two provinces soon to seek for investment opportunities, especially in planting rubber, building rubber processing mills, exploiting coal and constructing thermoelectric plants.

Working in the southern Lao province of Champasak, the Vietnamese delegation heard the reports on the province's fruitful interdisciplinary cooperation with 13 provinces in Central and South Việt Nam. Champasak is a concentration of many Việt Nam-invested projects on cultivation of rubber, industrial crops and herbal plants.

Visiting some Vietnamese joint-stock companies operating in Laos, Mr. Trương Tấn Sang emphasized that Việt Nam's projects are economically significant to both sides because they are good preconditions for the neighbor's industries to develop.

During his stay in Laos, Mr. Trương Tấn Sang and his entourage visited an ethnic minority boarding-school funded by Vĩnh Phúc and Phú Thọ Provinces. The high-ranking Vietnamese delegation also laid a wreath at the Monument dedicated to Vietnamese volunteer corps in Oudomxai.
