CPI in HCM City slightly rises

VGP – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Ho Chi Minh City in April rose 0.03% against the previous month and up 0.8% compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial’s Statistical Office.

Four out of 11 calculated groups of commodities witnessed decreases in prices, including restaurants and food services down 0.54%, beverage and tobacco down 0.15%, household appliances down 0.02%, and telecommunications down 0.17%.

Other items saw increases in prices such as housing, electricity, water and fuel up 0.29%, transport up 2.71% and entertainment and tourism up 0.12%.

The prices of groups of garment, hats, footwear, medicines, heath care services and education stabilized compared to the previous month.

The foodstuff price decreased 0.13% in comparison with March.
