COVID-19 update: 28 new cases, eight recoveries
VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 28 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday afternoon, raising the patient tally to 1,767.

The latest patients include 27 community infection cases (one in Ho Chi Minh City, two in Gia Lai, two in Ha Noi, four in Quang Ninh, and 18 in Hai Duong) and one imported case, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The imported case is an American man who flew from the U.S. to the Republic of Korea and then took a flight to Ho Chi Minh City on January 28.
Earlier in the morning, the National Committee had reported 34 new local infection cases.
Of the country's patient tally, 901 are local infections, including 208 cases reported since January 27 when the outbreaks occured in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh.
The same day, eight patients were declared free of the virus, taking the total recoveries to 1,456./.
