COVID-19 infection tally rises to 258, Bach Mai hospital lockdown lifted

VGP – The Ministry of Health on April 11 confirmed one new COVID-19 infection case, raising the patient tally to 258.

Among 258 COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam, 144 have recovered and discharged from hospitals.

Patient 258th
is a 47-year old woman, residing in Ha Loi Commune, Me Linh District, Ha Noi.

She is the mother of a previously-announced COVID-19 patient (patient numbered 257) who is being treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District.

Ha Loi has become the newest coronavirus cluster, with six cases confirmed so far.

Among 258 COVID-19 patients, 144 have recovered and discharged from hospitals.

Among the 258 COVID-19 cases reported so far in Viet Nam, 141 are female while 117 are male, making up 54.56% and 45.35%, respectively.

Ha Noi's Bach Mai Hospital, which is the country's largest hotspot for COVID-19, has ended its 14-day lockdown on April 12.

Among Ha Noi’s total infection cases, 44 link to Bach Mai Hospital including workers of Truong Sinh Company – a service provider in the hospital, two nurses, patients, their caregivers and people who had been in close contact with them.

Since March 28, local authorities had found 25,951 people who visited Bach Mai Hospital between March 10-28.

Nearly 17,200 people were tested, of which 8,410 people were confirmed negative for the new coronavirus, five people were confirmed positive and the rest are awaiting test results.

Since April 6, no new COVID-19 infection case relevant to Bach Mai Hospital and Truong Sinh Company has been confirmed./.
