COVID-19 fight: Lao Cai encourages residents not to leave home if not necessary

VGP – The northern border province of Lao Cai has encouraged residents not to leave home if not necessary as part of the locality’s latest measures to prevent spread of COVID-19.

Particularly, the local authorities called on those aged 60 and above with diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases to stay at home.

People are required to keep a distance of at least one meter from each other.

A gathering of more than 20 people outside public office building, schools, and hospitals shall be banned.

The locality also decided to halt festivals, religious rituals, sporting events with the participation of 20 people and more.

It also bans non-essential services like entertainment, cinemas, beauty salons, hair and nail salons, karaoke and massage parlors, bars, and game rooms.

Restaurants and cafes are only allowed to offer takeways.

The above measures shall be applicable from May 11-21./.
