In his congratulatory letter released on Monday, Chairman Huỳnh Đảm of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee hoped that the force of 4 million entrepreneurs always maintain their solidarity, highlight patriotism, and make use of their capability and enthusiasm in order to consolidate national unity, push up the cause of renovation, industrialization, modernization, and international integration, striving for a socialist and powerful Vietnamese country of social equity, democracy and civilization.

Earlier, at the prize-awarding ceremony on Saturday evening in Hà Nội to honor 100 typical enterprises, State President Nguyễn Minh Triết praised the Vietnamese business community for their leading role in overcoming difficulties and advancing the country forwards.

On Monday, many activities were organized here and there throughout the country in the honor of excellent Vietnamese enterprises on their traditional celebration day.

When converting the planned economy into a socialist-orientated market one, the Party and State of Việt Nam have promulgated many policies to encourage the development of the business community and create favorable conditions for all walks of life to engage in legal business activities. The number of enterprises increased from 4,086 in 1992 to 376,644 in late 2008.

In 2009, about 76,000 new enterprises are established, raising the total number to more than 400,000.

Việt Nam has also over 3.7 million individual business households and 14,500 cooperatives.
