Both VN, China responsible for preserving neighboring and friendly ties

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung made the above remarks at the ceremony marking the 68th founding anniversary of Viet Nam-China diplomatic ties in Ha Noi on Saturday.
Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh attended the event.
The neighboring and friendly relationship is a precious common asset of the two Parties, States and people that both sides have responsibility to preserve, inherit and ceaselessly promote, Trung said.
He spoke highly of the positive advancements in the bilateral ties in 2017, particularly, top leaders of the two Parties exchanged visits for the first time in one year.
Viet Nam attaches great importance to the neighboring and friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation with China, affirmed Trung, adding that this is the consistent and long-term policy, strategic choice and top priority in Viet Nam’s foreign policy.
In his remarks, the Chinese Ambassador to Viet Nam, Hong Xiaoyong, highlighted the achievements of the two countries’ relationship over the past 68 years.
He affirmed China attaches importance to developing friendly relations with Viet Nam and stands ready to well deploy the common perceptions reached by the two countries’ senior leaders while deepening the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership./.
