Bhutan’s National Council Chairman to visit VN

VGP - Chairman of the National Council (Upper House) of Bhutan Tashi Dorji will pay an official visit to Viet Nam from May 11-14, the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Committee for External Affairs has announced.

May 10, 2019 4:28 PM GMT+7

The visit is made at the invitation of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, the Committee said.

Viet Nam and Bhutan officially established diplomatic ties on January 19, 2012 and have boasted sound friendship with the regular exchange of congratulatory messages between leaders on the occasion of big events.

Viet Nam mainly exports tractors and wood furniture to Bhutan. The AA Corporation of Viet Nam and the AdrukA company of Bhutan have jointly invested in a wood furniture manufacturing project in the latter country since 2011.

More than 1,430 Vietnamese tourists visited Bhutan in 2018, according to the latter’s Tourism Council./.
