Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu to host int’l kite festival late March

VGP – The International Kite Festival 2009, held in Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu on March 27-29, promises to bring about a fresh impression to both national and foreign visitors.

Various types of national and international kites will be displayed in Vũng Tàu

According to the organizers, the event will lure performers from Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, and Huế. Meanwhile, there will be foreign competitors from different seven countries and territories, including Cambodia, Germany, the Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada and Taiwan. 

The festival is scheduled to start in the morning of March 27 at Hồ Tràm Beach Resort & Spa in Xuyên Mộc suburban district. Performances will be conducted by children and sponsors, together with presentations of competitors, in the opening ceremony.

On March 28 and 29, all teams will show their talent in Vũng Tàu City as the main venue. In the evening of these days, there will be night-shows of spot-light, lamp kites, and Northern kites.

It is reported that, the Festival and another International Beach Exhibition on Ceramic and Sculpture Assemblage Art (May 2009) are the biggest cultural and tourist events hosted by Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu in 2009.
