The Government chief expressed his idea while attending the first Viet Nam brocade culture festival in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong on January 14.

According PM Phuc, lively and colorful pattern of brocade squares send different messages and represent cultural identity and aesthetic values of Viet Nam’s 54 ethnic communities.

The Government chief stressed the necessity to figure out economic potentials by awakening every brocade square which is made by Vietnamese ethnic minorities.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the MCST and the fashion and garment-textile industries were urged to make brocade a material for high-end fashion.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Information and Communications and press agencies were asked to build a strategy to promote Vietnamese brocade products to locals and foreign consumers.

The Government will study mechanisms to preserve traditional brocade values; encourage startup enterprises particularly youths, to tap brocade business potential; and urged efforts to bring the culture closer to tourists./.
