Association of female intellectuals established

A congress on formation of the association was held on the same day with the participation of over 200 outstanding female delegates of different sectors, regions and ages in the whole country.
The delegates discussed and approved working orientations and charter of the association for first terms (2011-2016).
Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân praised active contributions by female intellectuals to the country’s all-around developments, including social progress and gender equality in Việt Nam.
The association needs to focus on researching issues of importantly significance to the country, especially those relating to Vietnamese women and families’ affairs, and play an effectively consultative channel for the Party and State in designing policies for national development in general and women development in particular, said the Deputy PM.
The Association’s operation is subjected to the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology and other relating ministries. It is an affiliate of the Việt Nam Women’s Union.
