Asian-Pacific Postal Union Executive Council Meeting 2018 held in Da Nang

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong asserted that the Vietnamese Government has improved the legal framework to create a dynamic, transparent and competitive environment for the postal sector.  

The nation has facilitated postal businesses to provide cheaper and better services for customers, contributing to promoting the development of regional postal sector and initiatives of the APPU.  

The event, which will last until June 29, has attracted more than 120 delegates from 22 APPP member countries, including the APPU Secretary General, General Director and Deputy General Directors.

The plenary and working groups’ sessions discuss ways to improve the operating efficiency of the APPU, development trends and postal service policies, opportunities and challenges in e-commerce, postal logistics and money transfer services, and trade facilitation.

The Board of Directors of the Asian-Pacific Postal College (APPC) will also convene a meeting to consider the approval of a financial budget and training allocation plan for APPU member states. The APPU General Assembly will also be held to coincide with these meetings.
