Art exchange marks 100th anniversary of Russian October Revolution

VGP - An art programme titled “October Epic” will be held at the Viet Nam - Russia Culture Palace in Ha Noi on November 1.

October 31, 2017 10:38 AM GMT+7

The event is held by the Voice of Viet Nam and the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

At the event, the audiences will have a chance to meet as well as hear stories from historical witnesses to the Viet Nam- Russia friendship relations.

The programme will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (1817-1917), said organisers from the People’s TV Station.

The event will include Russian songs that have become familiar to the Vietnamese people, such as “Russia My Homeland”, “Kalinka” and a number of Russian ballet and orchestra works. They will be performed by artists from both countries, including Quang Tho, Lan Anh, Khanh Ly and many artists from Russian art troupes.

Many local and international experts will exchange views on the history of the Russian October Revolution and Viet Nam’s August Revolution.

The former Soviet Union, present-day Russia, trained generations of Vietnamese leaders, scientists, military generals, and artists. Tens of thousands of Vietnamese students trained in Russia and returned home to become significant contributors to national protection and development.

Partly inspired by the October Revolution, the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh, succeeded during the August Revolution and the two resistance wars for national independence.
