Arousing Pride in Vietnamese Goods

VGP – The Prime Minister has approved a project to develop the domestic market associated with the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” in the 2021-2025 period.

Arousing pride in Vietnamese goods

The overall objective of the project is to develop the domestic market in the next five years to contribute to boosting the production, trading and consumption of Vietnamese commodities through the acceleration of market development activities themed “Proud of Vietnamese Goods” and “Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods”.

In addition, the project will be incorporated into the annual socio-economic development action programs of ministries, sectors and localities in order to create strong resonance effects on a national scale.

The project targets to ensure Viet Nam’s strength products hold a market share of over 85% in modern distribution channels (shopping centers, supermarkets, convenience stores, minimarts, and e-commerce) and over 80% in traditional distribution channels (markets and grocery stores).

It also aims to keep retail sales of the domestic economic sector accounting at 85% of the country’s total retail sales of goods.

Under the project, by 2025, more than 90% of Vietnamese consumers and businesses will be aware of the Vietnamese goods identification program called “Proud of Vietnamese Goods” and “Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods”, while over 90% of businesses are expected to learn about the movement “Vietnamese goods conquer Vietnamese consumers”, with 70% of them participating in the movement. 

The project also targets 100% of provinces, centrally-run cities, ministries, sectors and socio-political organizations having their own communication channels with the column “Proud of Vietnamese Goods” and “Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods”.

In addition, the model of ‘Viet Nam Point of Sale’ is expected to be implemented in all cities and provinces nationwide under the name “Proud of Vietnamese Goods” and “Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods”.

Meanwhile, 100% of ministries, sectors and localities are expected to establish distribution chains for products of small and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives and farmer households producing Vietnamese goods in the domestic market.
