After landing at the Noi Bai International Airport, the passengers were medically checked and quarantined in accordance with the current regulations.

Earlier on Wednesday, a flight carrying over 220 Vietnamese citizens from Japan landed at the Cam Ranh international airport on Wednesday, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The rescue flight was jointly conducted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Vietjet Air, and Japanese competent agencies.

The passengers included children aged under 18, the elderly, pregnant women, those with illness, workers with expired visas and labor contracts, students without accommodations, and those in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.

Precautious measures were taken through the flight to prevent transmission of COVID-19. The passengers and crew members were medically checked and quarantined upon arrival in accordance with the current regulations.

Viet Nam has conducted 81 rescue flights since April 10, bringing home 19,970 nationals stranded abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic, official statistics show./.
