Another single-day record of daily COVID-19 infections reported

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 353 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday evening, bringing the national caseload to 19,403.

The latest patients include seven Vietnamese who entered the country via the Moc Bai international border gate in the southern province of Tay Ninh on June 29.

All the others are residents in Ho Chi Minh City (250), Dong Nai (32), Quang Ngai (16), Phu Yen (14), Tien Giang (12), Nghe An (7), Binh Duong (6), Binh Dinh (5), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (4). Of these 306 cases were detected in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

These new cases raised the total number of cases on Saturday to 922, setting a new single-day record of infections since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The ministry also announced that 248 patients were cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recovered cases to 7,643.

The death toll stood at 84./.
