An Giang BGEZ connects border markets
VGP – By 2030, the An Giang Border Gate Economic Zone (BGEZ) in the southern province of An Giang will be converted into a regional key hub of cross-border economic linkages and transport activities.

PM recently approved the establishment of An Giang BGEZ, one of nine major
economic zones of Việt
The BGEZ is supposed to contribute to socio-economic
development of the locality and the Mekong Delta.
Serving
as a center for economic, commercial, industrial, tourist and service
development and a transportation hub, the BGEZ is expected to cover an area of
around 26,583 ha and have a population of around 180,000 in 2030.

After
two years in operation, the An Giang BGEZ has helped to raise local export
turnover to US $1.1 billion in 2009. So far, 25 investors are doing business
there with the registered capital of around VND 1,600 billion.
