Aircraft engine parts factory makes debut

VGP - Hanwha Aero Engines factory on aircraft engine parts production was official put into operation on December 6 in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in Ha Noi.

The grand opening ceremony drew the attendance of Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh, Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of the National Assembly Commission for Science, Technology and Environment, Phan Xuan Dung, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh; RoK’s Minister Counselor Lee Chul, and Hanwha President Kim Seung Yeon.

The US$ 200 million project got license on July 7, 2017 and broke ground on September 21, 2017. The factory will churn out the first batch in January, 2019.

So far, over 40 technicians from the mother company are present in Viet Nam. They are in charge of training about 200 Vietnamese technicians.  

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh hoped that the factory would become a typical example of technology transfer of the RoK to Viet Nam and help to raise Viet Nam’s technological competence. 

He also praised the joint efforts of the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park’s Management Board and the Ministry of Science and Technology in attracting investors and creating favorable conditions for the Park to become the best technological startup in Viet Nam. 

Meanwhile, Minister Chu Ngoc Anh applauded the investor and the Management Board for accomplishing construction procedures and put the project into operation on schedule. 

He was convinced that the factory would make important role in converting Hanwha into a leading aircraft engine enterprise in the world.

The Hanwha President pledged that the Group commits to doing long-term business in Viet Nam./.
