Agro-forestry, fishery exports hit over US$8.6 billion

VGP - According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the agro-forestry and fishery export value in the first four months of this year has brought in US$8.67 billion, up 0.4% over the same period last year.

The export value of major farm products of rice, coffee, rubber, tea, pepper and cashew reached US$4.54 billion in the four months withe four products reaping over US$1 billion  being rice (US$1.04 billion), coffee (US$1.3), seafood (US$1.7), and wood and wood products (US$1.6 billion).

Though tea export volume falls by 3.2% compared to the same period last year, its value made a 4% year-on-year rise, amounting for US$58 million.

Pakistan is the largest tea importer, accounting 14.4% of the total export value while the United Arab Emirates’ tea import from Viet Nam increased sharply, seeing 2.3 times more than the same time last year./.
