Agro-aquatic-forestry exports up 24.2 percent

VGP – Viet Nam’s agro-aquatic-forestry exports hit US$17.15 billion over the last four months of 2021, up 24.2 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Meanwhile, the country spent US$14.93 billion importing farm-aquatic-forestry products during that time.

Export value of key farm products was estimated to rake in US$5.9 billion, up 9 percent while export turnover of forestry and aquatic exports reached US$5.33 billion and US$2.39 billion, up 50.9 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively. 

Noticeably, farm products with high export growth included rubber, up more than 100 percent, cassava up 24 percent and timber up 71 percent. 

Asia was the biggest importer of the Southeast Asian country's agro-aquatic-forestry products with (46.9 percent), followed by America (27.6 percent), Europe (10 percent) and Africa (1.4 percent).
