Agriculture-aquatic-forestry exports in first half exceed US$19 bln

VGP – Viet Nam gained US$3.45 billion from exporting agriculture-aquatic-forestry products in June, raising the total export value in the first half to US$19.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12%.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the exports of agricultural, aquatic and forestry products reached US$10.3 billion, US$3.94 billion and US$4.33 billion, witnessing respective increases of 9.7%, 10.5% and 12.7%. 

Key export items included rice (US$1.81 billion), vegetables and fruits (US$2 billion) and cashew (US$1.71 billion). 

Viet Nam’s largest export markets in the first half consisted of Indonesia (rice, coffee, rubber), China (vegetables, rubber, aquaculture), Germany (tea, aquaculture, cashew) and Malaysia (rice, tea). 

The nation mainly imported agriculture-aquatic-forestry products from China (US$1.2 billion, accounting for 74.6% and up 18.1%) and the U.S. (US$50.9 million, up 14.6%).
