Action program on forest protection and development promulgated

VGP – The Government has issued an action program to implement Directive 13-CT/TW, dated January 12, 2017 of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on forest management, protection and development (Directive 13).

The program aims to concretize tasks and solutions which are stipulated at Directive 13 in order to make a change in awareness of and action in law compliance, forest protection and development, and promotion of social engagement.

The program targets to surmount weaknesses and limitations in forest management, protection, and development in favor of job generation, poverty reduction, improvement of means of substance, active response to climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable growth.

The program targets to disseminate, raise public awareness and responsibility for forest protection and management; tighten forest management; compose management dossiers; review planning; improve forest development task; and promote international cooperation.

The Government tasks the provincial and municipal People’s Committees to tighten management of forest land; timely expose infringements in land allocation; reclaim illegal forest land for afforestration; suspend exploitation of natural forest; and manage free migration./.
