Acting Minister of Information and Communications named
VGP – The PM has decided to assign Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman cum General Director of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group as Acting Minister of Information and Communications.

Earlier, the Political Bureau has appointed Mr. Hung as the new Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) for the 2016-2021 term.
The PM has also approved the election of Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Alternate Member of the Central Party Committee as Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Province’s People’s Committee in the 2016-2021 phase.
Mr. Thang was former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank).
