President Triết took the occasion to introduce Việt Nam’s judicial system and reconfirmed the Vietnamese State’s attention to democracy, social equality and economic development.

He hoped that during the meeting, ASEAN lawyers will propose fundamental solutions for “narrowing development gaps within ASEAN through cooperation and mutual assistance.”

For three days, the discussions will focus on impacts of the ASEAN Charter on law training systems in ASEAN members; settling unsolved law-related issues; evaluating investment laws of ASEAN countries; and review judicial reforms in the region.

Việt Nam will take over the Presidency of the ALA.
