VNGOP – The member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) issued a declaration to recognize Vietnam's full market economy status on May 3 at the 13th ASEAN Economic Ministers' Retreat held in Brunei.

The economic ministers also called for ASEAN's partners and other countries to give the same recognition soon.

Addressing the Retreat, Vietnamese Trade Minister Trương Đình Tuyển expressed his hope that WTO members will acknowledge Vietnam's efforts in a full, proper and equal way and provide their recognition to the country's full market economy.
