ASEAN, UN agree to foster ties
VGP – ASEAN Foreign Ministers and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres have agreed to further foster ASEAN-UN cooperative ties during their meeting in New York on September 23.

Vietnamese Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh attended the meeting.
Both sides agreed bilateral cooperation will focus on the realization of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda on sustainable development.
They agreed that multilateralism is the key to address regional and international challenges and highlighted the importance of peaceful settlement of disputes on the basis of international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The same day, Deputy PM, FM Minh had bilateral meetings with FMs of Nepal, Venezuela, Ivory Coast to exchange measures to boost bilateral ties and mutual coordination at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations./.
