APEC VN 2017: Activities to be held in September, October

VGP - The High Level Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy 2017 Forum and APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting will be organized in late September and October this year within the framework of the activities in the APEC Viet Nam 2017.

Taking place from September 26-29 in Hue City, Thua Thien-Hue Province by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the High Level Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy 2017 Forum aims to realize recommendations of APEC leaders in economic integration, finance and society, increase the capacity and equal access to qualified education and economic resources for women.

The forum will feature three main events, namely the meeting on policy partnership on women and the economy, the public-private dialogue on women and the economy, and the high-level policy dialogue on women and the economy.

As many as 700 delegates from APEC member economies, international organizations, businesses, high-ranking leaders and officials from the Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities will attend the event. 

The APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting will be held from October 19-21 in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province. 

Around 300 foreign and domestic delegates, including financial ministers, leaders of finance and banking sectors of 21 APEC member economies and other international organizations will join the meeting. 

Ministers at the meeting will discuss the macro-economic and global and regional financial situation, considering the outcomes of the financial cooperative process with four prioritized topics including long-term investment for infrastructure, base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS), disaster risk financing and insurance and inclusive finance and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and other contents. 

On October 21, after the closing ceremony, ministers will organize an international press conference to announce the Joint Statement of the APEC Finance Ministers manifesting viewpoints on regional financial cooperation, priorities in the year and orientations in the future.
