APEC Park opens to public

VGP – The APEC Park was inaugurated on November 9 in Da Nang City within the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2017.

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, the Chairman of the National Committee for APEC 2017 chaired the inauguration ceremony with the participation of Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho, and Ministers and Heads of Delegations from APEC economies.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Minh said that the opening of the APEC Park aimed to cement and deepen the mutual understanding of APEC economies; and promote cultural exchanges among APEC members.

He highly spoke of the support from APEC members, who sent in selected works of art that showcase the region’s rich cultures and contribute to the overall theme of APEC 2017 “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future”. 

Located in the center of the dynamic city of Da Nang, the park represents a gift of Viet Nam to distinguished visitors, economies, and APEC’s citizens. Deputy PM Minh hoped that the park will become a symbol of creation, vitality, and cooperative spirit of APEC, and a charming tourism destination in Da Nang City. 

Deputy PM Minh and distinguished guests unveiled the stone- carved APEC 2017 logo, planted trees and enjoyed the artistic works meticulously sculptured by talented artisans from APEC economies.

The APEC Park displays 21 unique artistic statues, representing for 21 concepts from different APEC economies./.
