ADB give more loans for poverty reduction
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng yesterday approved the results of negotiations for the treaty and related documents on an Asia Development Bank (ADB) loan to finance the poverty reduction program V, sub-program I. The Governor of the State Bank of Việt Nam (SBV) was authorized to ink the treaty with representatives of ADB.

Earlier, on December 20, 2007, SBV Governor Nguyễn Văn Giàu and Mr. Ayumi Konishi, Country Director and chief representative of ADB to Việt Nam, inked a treaty on the loan to finance the poverty reduction program IV, valuing US $15 million.
This is a sum co-donated by ADB under the 6th Poverty Reduction Support Credit Program (PRSC 6) of the World Bank. So far, ADB has co-financed US $52 million for PRSC programs 3 to 6, focusing on three fields: sustainable growth, comprehensive social development, and national administration with the goal of poverty reduction.
