The total investment values US $265.91 million of which the Electricity of Việt Nam (EVN) contributed US $69.91 million.

As the major investor, EVN intends to build a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 156 MW in Sông Bung, Quảng Nam Province. Once coming into operation in 2013, the plant will meet 16% of the nation’s demand for electricity.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Ayumi Konishi stated that the Sông Bung 4 Hydropower Project not only satisfies Việt Nam’s increasing demand for electricity but also represents an exemplary model in which hydroelectric power production goes with environmental sustainability and social development in Việt Nam.
